Subtle
So delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe
Delicately complex and understated
Making use of clever and indirect methods to achieve something

Every day, month, year... we change.

Sometimes it's as simple as a new coat of paint on your bedroom walls or a haircut. Maybe it's bigger. Maybe you moved to a new city, state, or even country. Perhaps you're in search of a new career or have set new goals for yourself. However, before any of those decisions were made something happened. You had an experience that changed your perspective. An experience that inspired or forced change. Very few of us make true rash decisions. Even those that claim to live spontaneously are heavily influenced by the world around them.

Think.

What made you choose that paint color? Hairstyle? Location? Career? Goal?

It's the little things, the subtle things, in our day to day life that molds us.

Which brings me to the title of this new blog: The Subtle Teacher.

I didn't grow up knowing that I wanted to be a teacher. I did know that I loved learning new things, challenging myself, and in turn teaching others what I have learned.

I know that my students, my friends, my family, and ultimately the world is watching. In the age of social media everyone is watching what you post, how you react, and how you move forward. I have learned that being a teacher is not limited to the classroom. It does not require an education degree. It requires you to be mindful, purposeful, and steadfast.

Be the change
Teach the change
See the change
